Paul and Angela practically grew up together, they met in grade school in Winnipeg and stayed really close friends for years. They didn't start dating until last year, now the pair are in love and it shows. Paul is going to school here in Calgary, while Angela holds down 2 jobs in Winnipeg.
I had the chance to photograph them when Angela was here for the long weekend.
Don't worry Angela, Paul will be back in Winnipeg before too long, he can't stay away from you for very long. Congratulations to the both of you!

NATIONAL IMAGE COMPETITION

The 2010 National Image Competition of the Professional Photographers of Canada took
place this week during Inspiration 2010, the Annual Convention of the PPOC, in Mont-Tremblant, QC.
Linda Senychych,
a professional photographer from Calgary, AB,
had 1 image accepted
and exhibited in the National Image Competition, judged prior to the Convention by a panel of Master
Photographers from across Canada. Acceptance in the competition earns the
maker Merits toward several Degrees offered to PPOC members, including the prestigious
Craftsman of Photographic Arts and Master of Photographic Arts. It is also an indication of
the makers’ ability to produce above average images for their clientele.
The competition features entries from across Canada in many different classes, including
Portraiture, Wedding, Commercial, Digital and Specialist categories. Members also are
able to enter Salons in their respective regions of Canada annually, increasing their
opportunities to earn recognition for their skills as a PPOC member.

PPOC wishes the recipients and their sponsors continued success.

Every now and then I get the parents to have some fun with the wedding party. Mat and Michelle had a small wedding party and just the wedding party and the parents came to the park. How fun would it be to have the parents in a James Bond Charlie Angels photo. Here they are having fun.

Newport Grill atThe Inn on Lake Bonavista

Barb and Chris were married on March 13, 2010 at The Inn in Lake Bonavista. It was a romantic setting in front of the fireplace with a number of guests watching as the happy couple said their vows. What was nice is that I was able to photograph the wedding with beautiful available light that was coming in through the windows. We had a sunny warm day and the rim lighting coming in was beautiful. I always love it when I have beautiful light. It makes the couple more relaxed not using the flash as they are getting married.
I was lucky to have this happy couple all to myself over at the lake for some photos before they got married. As we were walking along the path of the lake their guest could see them from the deck of the Inn and every once in a while you would hear a whistle.

Yes once again PPOC 2010 print comp is coming up and who will be this years photographer of the year! Every year I like to enter some of my work and see what comes of it.

I wonder if my friend Denise knows she is so popular this year with me. I had the pleasure of photographing Denise and Robin's wedding back in July of 2009 and decided to enter them.

She is thrilled that I used some of her portraits.

While strolling through Fish Creek park after an awesome engagement shoot I came across the big buck and couldn't resist getting a photo of him. My husband loves it so much he asked me to print it for him. And again I was photographing a family session and I couldn't believe how good my families dogs were. They were so well behaved and understood everything you said, well almost I would say. These two were a couple of real cute dogs.

I posted my prints a little while ago but I have done more work on the images tweaking them even more!

So here is hoping that I hang one or maybe 2 or just wouldn't it be fabulous if all 4 got accepted and hung at this years 2010 convention!

PPOC, Professional Photographers of Canada

I have been a long time member of the Professional Photographers of Canada, and loving every minute of it! We have our 2010 convention coming up very soon and I am busy trying to put together images for print competition. Not only that but I have been busy putting together a few more accreditation's, these accreditation's will be judged very soon by my piers which I look up to.
I am looking forward to winning more print merits at this years convention. So stay tuned I will be posting some soon for all those to view!
